I’ve Got The Introverted, Quarantined Blues

Original Lyrics by me (Dan of DanLovesGuitars.com)

Early this morning while still lying in bed,
The following lyrics popped into my head

Sorry, my mind is still stuck in rhyming mode. However, lyrics regarding how it is to be an introvert during the coronavirus lockdown did come to me while half-asleep. I have a feeling the words I heard during the night were better than what I committed to the page after I was awake. So, call this the first draft of my song.

(The tune in my head when I wrote these lyrics was Lonesome Road AKA Going down that road feeling bad – so that should work. But other blues tunes and forms could work too.)

I’ve got the introverted quarantined blues.
I’ve got the COVID-19 lockdown blues
I spend most of my time
living in my mind
So I’m pretty sure I’m going to be OK

I’ve got the quarantined lockdown blues
I heard it on the social network news
They say to stay indoor
And let Trump fight this viral war
I’m not sure we’re going to be OK

I’ve got the introverted quarantined blues.
I cope by drinking lots of booze
As long as I’ve got my wine
Everything will be fine
I’m pretty sure we’ll all be OK

That novel coronavirus gave us all the blues
The Wuhan Virus gave us all the blues
They tell us what to do—
It’s worse than the Spanish flu
I sure hope we’ll all be OK

I’ve got the quarantined introvert blues
I’ve got the shelter-in-place introverted blues
They say stay six feet away,
I don’t like crowds much anyway
I’m pretty sure it’s going to be OK

I’m an introvert living in my mind,
In my head I see a safer time
They say stay six feet away,
I don’t like crowds much anyway
I’m hoping everyone will be OK

Introverts like our time alone
It’s no problem staying home
I know the quarantine won’t last
Till then I’m living in the past
I’m pretty sure I’m going to be OK

When I don’t want to be alone
I connect with family on my fancy phone
When I FaceTime those I love
I don’t have to wear mask and gloves
I’m pretty sure we’ll come through this somehow

Stay safe and wear a mask and gloves
Treat everyone you see with love
We’re separated yet together
When we get through this we’ve still got the weather
(Climate change)
I’m pretty sure we’ll come through this somehow.
