George Benson started his jazz career playing with Hammond B3 organist Jack McDuff. But it wasn’t long before he went out on his own. His first album was New Boss Guitar in 1964.
In 1976 George released the album, Breezin’, the first jazz album to go platinum.
Ibanez Guitars and George Benson collaborated on a line of jazz guitars. There are currently three George Benson models available, the GB10, GB15 and GB200. There is also a special GB30th to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the first George Benson jazz model. Unlike many artist endorsers, George plays the models he helped design.
